The Make It Center (MIC) at ACC welcomes individuals of all ages to explore meaningful career pathways through hands-on discovery, exposing visitors to new careers and promising options. Housed on Level 2, the formerly shelled 9,200 sf from Highland Phase II’s (Building 2000) renovation was transformed into an innovation hub, fab lab, simulation zone, a showcase space, ACC showroom, and an inspiration hub for lectures and presentations. Conceived as a truly immersive space, the MIC contains numerous interactive displays, hands-on learning stations, conferencing areas, and both 3D and 4D virtual reality simulation zones.

The design incorporates natural wood elements, perforated metal, and acoustic felt ceiling panels that are contrasted by the exposed steel and mechanical system overhead. This aesthetic is prevalent throughout ACC Highland, further integrating the space into the context of the building, while at the same time setting itself apart. A highlight of the MIC is an operable glass partition forming an uninterrupted corner, opening the inspiration hub to the larger common space.
