The Historic Campus Core District Plan was initiated by the University primarily to ensure that several imminent capital improvement projects, including the Emerging Technologies and Economic Development Interdisciplinary Building as well as the proposed Arts and Humanities Building and the Wellborn Road Underpasses would align with the guidelines set forth in the 50-Year Campus Master Plan by BGK. The design team worked with the Campus Administration and pertinent Academic Departments in the siting, configuration, and architectural character of the buildings, conducting numerous workshops to ensure that the full array of options were explored.
