+ Project Details

"Almetris Duren Hall is surrounded by an eclectic environment that includes one of the busiest thoroughfares in Austin, numerous businesses, a private neighborhood, several churches, three other student housing venues, and a thriving academic community. Through concerted effort by the design team and members of the University to listen to the concerns of all these stakeholders, the facility has been a resounding success."

-Dr. Floyd Hoelting
Former Director of Housing and Food Service, The University of Texas at Austin

About
Residence Hall
The University of Texas at Austin
Austin, TX
175,400sf

Prominently located at the northwest corner of campus, Almetris Duren Residence Hall respects the rich, historic context of The University of Texas while offering modern amenities students and parents have come to expect. Designed in association with Centerbrook Architects and Planners, the hall defines a new gateway to the University. The challenges inherent to the corner site required careful examination of the connection between the building, the campus, and the diverse neighborhood.
