Rising seven stories at the heart of the Cockrell School of Engineering, the new Engineering Discovery Building (EDB) is set to become a hub of innovation and collaboration. Designed to house the Hildebrand Department of Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering and the McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering, the EDB will foster groundbreaking research and hands-on learning in a dynamic, state-of-the-art environment.

The design team of CO Architects and BGK worked with stakeholders to design flexible, reconfigurable research labs, integrated teaching spaces, and collaborative areas. The building is designed to inspire students and faculty alike—strengthening recruitment, development, and retention by providing world-class facilities that keep these programs at the forefront of engineering education.
